Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan today said, around ten crore people have become the beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat- Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
Replying to supplementaries during the Question Hour in the Lok Sabha, Dr Harsh Vardhan said, states are free to add additional families at their own cost. The Minister said, 16 thousand 39 hospitals including 8059 private hospitals and 7980 public hospitals have been empanelled under the Yojana.
He said, the states are implementing the scheme through insurance mode by selecting insurance companies through open trade tender process. On expansion of the Ayushman Bharat scheme, Dr Harsh Vardhan said, once the scheme will get stabilise, the government will think about its expansion. He said, the scheme is purely cashless, paperless and IT driven.
