The BJP National President Shri JP Nadda flagged off the ‘Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Samman Yatra’ from Kotulpur constituency in West Bengal on 16 March, 2021. The Yatra was launched in the presence of BJP National General Secretary and West Bengal In-Charge Shri Kailash Vijayvargiy, BJP SC Morcha President Shri Lal Singh Arya, Member of Parliament Shri Saumitra Khan and others.
Addressing the Karyakartas Shri JP Nadda said under the reign of present TMC government the atrocities on people belonging to the scheduled caste community has alarmingly increased in last 10 years.
Criticizing the present TMC government Shri JP Nadda said more than 100 innocent people from scheduled caste community have been murdered in last two years and more that 68% women of the community in the state are suffering from Anemia.
The BJP National President stated that as per the available data the atrocities on scheduled caste people was 59% in 2011 which has skyrocketed to 119% in 2019 which shows that the incumbent government is anti Scheduled Castes.
He emphasized that the current government has failed to ensure justice to Scheduled Caste people and has done nothing to put an end to corruption which has tainted the image of West Bengal.
He further added that there has been serious mismanagement of central government funds given during the Amphan Cyclone relief.
Shri Nadda also targeted the government for not honoring Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. He said Babasaheb was not given the honor that he should have received while alive, but BJP governments both at the centre and states are trying its best to make his vision come true.
The Yatra which was launched in honor of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar will cover 189 assembly constituencies.
