Renowned Telgu actor M. Vijayashanthi on December 7 joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of BJP National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda in New Delhi. Smt. M.Vijayashanthi resigned from the primary membership of the Congress to join BJP. Earlier,she became an Member of Lok Sabha from Medak(Telangana) and represented the constituency between 2009-2014. In a film career spanning 40 years, she has acted in over 180 feature films in various Indian languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.

Earlier, TMC MLA Shri Mihir Goswami on 27November joined Bharatiya Janata Party at the party’s National Headquarters in Delhi in the presence of BJP National General Secretary and West Bengal’s in-charge of the party Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya. Shri Vijayvargiya said, “He is a senior and seasoned politician from Cooch Behar in North Bengal. He is an MLA from Cooch Behar’s South Assembly seat.”
