Manohar Lal Khattar sworn in as CM of Haryana for second time

The Bharatiya Janata Party in alliance with the JJP formed the government for the second term in Haryana after Shri Manohar Lal Khattar and JJP chief Shri Dushyant Chautala took oath as Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister respectively on Diwali i.e. on 27 October, 2019. Haryana governor Shri Satyadeo Narain Arya administered oath at a ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan.

BJP National Working President Shri JP Nadda, Punjab governor Shri VP Singh Badnore, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh Chief Ministers Shri Trivendra Singh Rawat and Shri Jairam Thakur, Union ministers Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar, Shri RL Kataria and many other senior leaders attended the event. Additionally, former Punjab Chief Minister Shri Parkash Singh Badal, former Haryana Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda, and Shiromani Aakai Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal were also present.

On 26 October, 2019 Shri Khattar was invited by the governor to form the government in the state, soon after BJP announced its alliance partner to form the next government. In addition to the JJP, at least seven Independent MLAs have extended their support to the saffron party

Decision of alliance in wake of the verdict in Haryana : Amit Shah

BJP National President and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah on 25 October said that the decision to come together to form a government in Haryana had been taken in the wake of nature of verdict in the state.

Addressing a press conference after his meeting with JJP leader Shri Dushyant Chautala, Shri Shah said, “The decision to come together to form the government in Haryana had been taken in the wake of nature of verdict in the state”.

“Accepting the mandate by the people of Haryana, leaders of both parties (BJP and JJP) have decided that BJP-JJP will form the government together in Haryana. The Chief Minister will be from BJP and Deputy Chief Minister will be from JJP,” Shri Shah said.

As per the Assembly poll results the BJP won 40 seats. The Congress led by Shri Hooda in the state, won in 31 seats while JJP emerged with 10 seats in the 90-member Assembly of the state. Soon after the results were announced, the BJP announced its alliance with the JJP. Union Home Minister and BJP President Shri Amit Shah said that the party had sealed a deal with JJP.

Noteworthy, Shri Manoharlal Khattar who became the Chief Minister for the second time in Haryana was sworn-in as Haryana’s chief minister in 2014. Even as a first-time MLA he was asked to head the first BJP government ever in the state.

After taking oath CM Shri Manoharlal Khattar said BJP made only realistic promises during the electioneering, which it will definitely fulfill during the next five years. He said 12 common announcements of the two ruling allies have already figured out and we will work on it.

The CM said soon we will going to provide maternity leaves to the women staff in the private sector and free bus travel facility for cancer patients and their attendants.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s resolve to waive penalty and interest on farm loans amounting to Rs 4,750 crore.

He also said no liquor vends would be allowed to be opened in villages without the Panchayats’ approval.

Shri Khattar said a Scheduled Caste Commission will be set up in the state soon, the notification for which had already been made earlier.

He said developmental works worth Rs 450 crore would be executed in all 90 assembly constituencies of the state. For this, the Chief Minister sought from all MLAs, irrespective of their political affiliations, a list of developmental works worth Rs 5 crore each, for carrying out in their respective constituencies.

He also said an AIIMS would be set up in Manethi village in Rewari district and my government is committed for the all round development of the state and added we will win over the hearts of the people with our good work.
