India strictly follow ‘no first use’ nuclear policy : Home Minister Rajnath Singh

Defence minister Shri Rajnath Singh today said, till today India’s nuclear policy is of ‘no first use’. Speaking to media persons in Pokhran, Shri Singh said India has strictly adhered to this doctrine.

He said he came to pay his tribute to Atalji on the land of Pokhran. Jaisalmer is home to Pokhran where India conducted its nuclear tests under Atalji’s leadership. He said it is a coincidence that he was in Jaisalmer today and it is the first death anniversary of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Defence Minister was in Jaisalmer to attend the closing ceremony of International Scouts Masters  Competition.

The minister said India attaining the status of a responsible nuclear nation became a matter of national pride for every citizen of this country and the nation will remain indebted to the greatness of  Atal Ji.
