SKILL INDIA MISSION TRAINS MORE THAN 5 CRORE YOUTHS IN 5 YEARS: PM MODI

Addressing the Digital Skills Conclave on the occasion of the World Youth Skills Day and the fifth anniversary of ‘Skill India’ mission, PM Shri Narendra Modi on 15 July exhorted the youth to Skill, Reskill and Upskill in order to remain relevant in the rapidly changing business environment and market conditions.

Highlights:

  • The Skill India Mission launched 5 years back on the same day has led to creation of a vast infrastructure for skilling, reskilling and upskilling and enhancing opportunities to access employment both locally and globally.
  • It has led to hundreds of PM Kaushal Kendras being set up across the country and increased the capacity of the ITI ecosystem.
  • Due to these concerted efforts, more than 5 crore youth have been skilled in the last five years.
  • Skill India Mission has enhanced opportunities to access employment both locally and globally.
