Union Home Minister inaugurates medical college in Sindhudurg

The Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah inaugurated a medical college in Sindhudurg in Maharashtra today. On this occasion, Shri Amit Shah said that in this holy land of Maharashtra there is a tradition to lay down one’s life in the service of the Nation, during the era of the Mughals and British rule, when there was darkness all around. At that time Shivaji Maharaj talked about Swaraj to awaken the consciousness in the country. Shri Shah said the journey that began here, under the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi, is today on the way to make India a global Guru.

Shri Amit Shah said Shivaji Maharaj devoted his life to the cause of Self Duty and Self Rule. He also said it is very important to fight against injustice in public life and Shri Narayan Rane has done this job well. The Union Minister said the construction of a medical college in Sindhudurg in the Konkan region of Maharashtra is a commendable effort by the Sindhudurg Shiksha Prasar Mandal, an organization of Shri Narayan Rane. Shri Shah said the library at the college should make available to students, not only medical related information but also the history of the country and the history of Maharashtra. He also said the younger generation of the country should make greater use of libraries.

The Union Home Minister told the students present at the function, that this is the right time to pursue a career in medicine. He said during the Corona pandemic, India fought the battle against Corona very successfully under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi and the world is adopting the Indian model. Whether it is involving people in the Lockdown or lighting a lamp and ringing bells to salute Corona Warriors to raise their morale, the people of the country have resolutely stood behind the leadership of Shri Narendra Modi. Shri Shah said the health facilities in a country of a 130 crore people had collapsed, the WHO report was always negative, and masks, PPE kits and ventilators were not manufactured in India. The Union Home Minister said that, however now India has emerged as the largest exporter of masks, PPE kits and ventilators.

Shri Amit Shah said the pandemic was prevented from spreading and infrastructure strengthened during the Lockdown, leading to the lowest death rate in India as compared to developed countries. Shri Shah also said research papers published by Indian doctors have been used by the world as a line of treatment. The Union Home Minister said the entire medical staff deserves to be congratulated, as due to this line of treatment, the death rate could be limited to about one percent and less.
