Addressing the concluding session of the two day BJP National Executive Meeting in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on 16 April, 2017 Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said when India marks 75 years of Independence, the government will adopt ‘P2, G2’ – Pro People, Pro Active and Good Governance to fulfill our ‘Mission 2022’.

The PM said,” We will work hard to provide sustainable livelihood to the poor and will bring about a change that will make India one of the top nations in the world.

He further said that earlier too, there were many policies launched to help the country, but “bad governance”, “socio-economic discrimination” and other reasons hampered progress.

On the issue of triple Talaq, the PM said, “if there are social evils, the society should be woken up and efforts should be made to provide justice”.

The PM said, “Our Muslim sisters deserve justice. We should try to solve this issue at the district level”.

We should also proceed on the formula of a new India. We can’t simply move forward on a slow pace, but charge ahead with full speed.

PM Shri Narendra Modi also stressed for more inclusiveness among backwards in Muslims.
Intervening in the matter of the backward commission, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that “more inclusiveness is needed for those who are backward among the Muslim community”.

Shri Modi said a few days back, Lok Sabha had cleared a bill, which grants constitutional status to an OBC commission which has been completely powerless and has been unable to function effectively for the last 25 years. We bring that bill to safeguards the interests of the socially and educationally backward classes. The Lok Sabha passed it with a voice vote, but opposition has blocked it in Rajya Sabha.

The PM said, “It was a historic moment after the bill was passed in Lok Sabha. Even I met OBC leaders from all parties, including the Congress and the BJD, who promised their support to the bill, but now it’s stuck in Rajya Sabha” he said.
Shri Modi said People are now voting for progress and not on the basis of caste, creed or religion. In 2014 people voted for the BJP on the basis of hope and now the hope has been converted into trust and confidence.

Uttar Pradesh has proved political observers wrong. Political pundits used to say that BJP can overcome Congress, but it puts up a poor showing before regional parties. But the assembly election results have changed that perception, he said.
He further added that the opposition did not support our fight against black money and demonetization, but people showed their support.
