2.67 crore women workers registered on e-shram portal

Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Shri Rameswar Teli, in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabhaon 16 March informed that as per Census 2011 total 20.58 crore females are migrated due to Marriage and as per this census the number of women migrant workers is 64 lakhs across the country. Besides, this Ministry has launched e-SHRAM portal, a National Database of the Unorganised Workers on 26th August, 2021. e-SHRAM allows registration under 30 broad occupation sectors and around 400 occupations. In the written reply it was stated that as on 13.March 2023, 2.79 crore domestic & household workers have registered on e-shram portal out of which 2.67 crore are women.

In a another question, Shri Rameswar Teli in a written reply informed that as on 10th March 2023, a total of 28.64 crore unorganised workers have been registered on eShram portal. In the written reply it was stated that as on 31st March 2022 a total of around 3250 representations have been lodged in the Grievance Management System claiming for accidental deaths/ disability by eShram registrants.
