Three major DPIs— AgriStack, Agriculture Decision Support System, and Soil Profile Mapping—will be created under the mission to provide reliable information in the agriculture sector while making services accessible and faster for farmers.

Farmers will get ‘Kisan ID’

An important aspect of the Digital Agriculture Mission is ‘AgriStack’, which will provide farmers with a digital identity; just like Aadhaar, which will be known as ‘Kisan ID’. role in predicting agricultural production, benefiting both the government and the farmer. The programme has already been implemented as a pilot project in 11 states, and is planned to be rolled out across the country in the next two years.

Soil profile mapping of the land will increase the yield

Under the mission, detailed soil profile maps will be prepared for about 142 million hectares of agricultural land in the country. This system will provide farmers with accurate information about the soil of their land, which will help them select the right crop and fertilizers. This is expected to significantly increase agricultural yields.
Under the Digital Agriculture Mission, not only farmers will be benefited, but this mission will also provide new employment opportunities directly and indirectly.

About 2.5 lakh local youth and Krishi Sakhis will be trained for digital crop surveys and ground data collection for remote sensing, which will provide them employment.
The Digital Agriculture Mission aims to make the service delivery mechanism more efficient and transparent for farmers and stakeholders of the agriculture sector. Various components of the mission will be implemented at the ground level, which will ultimately benefit the farmers. Through this mission, India’s agriculture sector will enter a new era, where digital technologies will play a vital role in increasing the income of farmers and improving their standard of living.

Since the inception of NDA government, PM Shri Narendra Modi has been trying his best to double the income of farmers by introducing new cutting-edge technologies in the agriculture sector.
