India’s Cumulative COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage Exceeds 216.70 Cr

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 216.70 Cr (2,16,70,14,127) as per provisional reports till the morning of 19 September. COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 4.08 Cr (4,08,14,780) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards. India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 48,027. Active cases now constitute 0.11% of the country’s total Positive Cases.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.71%.As part of the nationwide vaccination drive, Government of India has been supporting the States and UTs by providing them COVID Vaccines free of cost. In the new phase of the universalization of the COVID19 vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75% of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs. More than 203.03 crore (2,03,03,52,325) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far through Govt. of India (free of cost channel) and through direct state procurement category. More than 3.70 Cr (3,70,12,740) balance and unutilized COVID Vaccine doses $are still available with the States/UTs to be administered.
