N Chandrababu Naidu becomes the new Chief Minister

National Democratic Alliance (NDA) senior leader and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President Shri N Chandrababu Naidu took oath as the new Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh along with 24 ministers in his cabinet on 12 June 2024. The event was held at Kesarapalli IT Park near Gannavaram Airport in Vijayawada. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and other senior BJP leaders attended the glittering oath taking ceremony.

Shri Naidu has allocated three cabinet ministries to the Jana Sena Party, including the Deputy Chief Minister’s post to its president Shri Pawan Kalyan. One ministerial berth has been given to the Bharatiya Janata Party. Apart from Shri Pawan Kalyan, the Jana Sena Party leaders in the cabinet include Shri Nadendla Manohar and Shri Kandula Durgesh. BJP leader Shri Satya Kumar Yadav also took oath as minister in Shri Naidu’s cabinet.

The event witnessed the presence of several prominent personalities like BJP National President and Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare Shri JP Nadda, Union Minister Shri Amit Shah, Shri Bandi Sanjay and other leaders from the NDA alliance.

On this occasion, Shri Naidu congratulated the NDA partners and said, “Thank you, @narendramodi Ji! On behalf of the people of Andhra Pradesh, I congratulate you

on the NDA’s victory in the Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections. Our people of Andhra Pradesh have blessed us with a remarkable mandate. This mandate is a reflection of their trust in our alliance and its vision for the state. Together with our people, we shall rebuild Andhra Pradesh and restore its glory”.

While congratulating the newly formed NDA government Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said, “Attended the oath-taking ceremony of the new Andhra Pradesh Government. Congratulations to Shri N Chandrababu Naidu on becoming the Chief Minister and also to all the others who took oath as Ministers in the Government. Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh said, “Congratulations to Shri @ncbn on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He is a seasoned politician and an effective administrator. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah Said, “Congratulations to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri @ncbn Ji, Deputy Chief Minister Shri @PawanKalyan Ji, and all others who took the oath of office today. It is my firm belief that the NDA government will pivot the state of Andhra Pradesh to new heights of prosperity, fulfilling the aspirations and hopes of the people”.

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the TDP, won the Andhra Pradesh Assembly election, winning 164 of the 175 seats. The TDP won 135 out of the 144 seats it contested, while the Jana Sena Party (JSP) won all the 21 seats it contested, and the BJP won eight out of 10 seats it contested. The incumbent YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) only won 11 seats. While TDP secured 45.60 per cent vote share and BJP got 2.83 per cent vote share.
