Vows to Continue Working with Same Zeal as Before
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 24 October, 2019 thanked the people of both Maharashtra and Haryana after the announcement of election results. While the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance returned to power in the western state of Maharashtra, in Haryana the BJP just fell short of the halfway mark but became the single largest party with 40 seats.
“People of Maharashtra have blessed the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) with immense affection,” Shri Modi said in a tweet. “We are humbled to have got the people’s support yet again. Our work towards Maharashtra’s progress continues.”
‘People of Maharashtra have blessed the NDA with immense affection. We are humbled to have got the people’s support yet again. Our work towards Maharashtra’s progress continues! I salute each and every Karyakarta of the BJP, Shiv Sena and our entire NDA family for their hardwork’.
In another tweet where he thanked the people of Haryana, PM Shri Modi said his government will continue to work with the same zeal and dedication for the state’s progress. He also hailed the efforts of “hardworking Karyakartas” of the state unit “who toiled extensively and went among the people to elaborate on our development agenda”.
‘I thank the people of Haryana for blessing us. We will continue to work with the same zeal and dedication for the state’s progress. I laud the efforts of hardworking @BJP4Haryana Karyakartas who toiled extensively and went among the people to elaborate on our development agenda’.
Later addressing the Karyakartas at the BJP National Headquarters in Deendayal Upadhyay Marg, New Delhi on poll results Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi thanked people of Maharashtra and Haryana for their blessings in the assembly polls and assured them that the BJP Government will work harder to serve the public.
PM Shri Modi told party workers, “BJP and Shiv Sena fought elections against each other previous time but the people wanted us to join hands. We partnered with the Shiv Sena after the elections and ran a stable government. And even this time, the people of Maharashtra have given our alliance a complete majority”.
PM further said, “These are unprecedented victories because normally these days few governments return after five years. In such times to be elected again is a big deal. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Manohar Lal Khattar were never even ministers anywhere before. But they took everyone along and for five years. They served Maharashtra and Haryana with honesty, for welfare of the people.”
“The coming five years will see both the states scale new heights of development,” he added.
The Prime Minister said, in Haryana, the victory was unprecedented because these days the chances of winning in elections again after completing a Five-year term is very less and in such an environment it is a big thing to come back again as the largest party with the trust and blessings of people. He said, BJP’s vote share in Haryana went up to 36 per cent from 33 per cent and it shows people’s endorsement of government’s work.
PM Shri Modi said, in Maharashtra in the last 50 years, not a single Chief Minister has been able to serve for 5 consecutive years. He said BJP’s Devendra Fadnavis successfully completed a five-year term as Chief Minister and again reelected with a majority.
Greeting people on Diwali, Shri Modi hoped that the festival of lights will bring new light and energy into the lives of people.
