Bihar Minister And BJP leader Vinod Singh Passes Away

Bihar Minister for Backward and Extremely Backward Classes Welfare Shri Vinod Singh on 12 October passed away at the age of 54 in Delhi. Shri Singh was BJP MLA from Pranpur Assembly constituency of Katihar district in northeast Bihar. He has been elected MLA thrice from the constituency. Shri Singh was undergoing treatment following brain haemorrhage for over a month at Medanta Hospital in Delhi. Shri Singh entered in politics in 1995 when he was just 29 and became MLA from Pranpur assembly seat in 2000 by defeating RJD’s candidate. However In 2005, he lost the seat but went on to win in both 2010 and 2015.

On the demise of the leader, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said in a tweet “I am extremely saddened on the demise of The Backward and Extremely Backward Classes Welfare minister of Bihar Shri Vinod Kumar Singh ji. He remained dedicated to the empowerment of the poor and underprivileged. He also played an important role in strengthening the BJP in the state. My condolences to his family and supporters. Om Shanti!”

BJP National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda wrote on his demise, “Received sad news about the demise of Shri Vinod Kumar Singh, senior leader of Bihar BJP and Minister in the State Government. His dedication to public service and organization will always be remembered. His death is an irreparable loss to the BJP. My condolences to his family and supporters.”

Bihar Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar offered his condolences, saying he was a popular leader and an able administrator.

Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Sushil Modi,BJP State President Shri Sanjay Jaiswal,Union Home Minister for State Shri Nityanand Rai, Health Minister of Bihar Shri Mangal Pandey and several other leaders of the BJP expressed their profound grief over the death of the leader.
