The Congress-led UPA era is remembered as an era of ‘policy paralysis’; the period between 2004 and 2014 is also known as the ‘Lost Decade’ for the nation. The Congress-led UPA regime plunged the nation in an atmosphere of negativity and pessimism by creating hopeless situations on every front. No one can deny the fact that rescuing the nation from such morass not only posed extreme challenges but appeared insurmountable to the experts who started claiming that India’s story was over. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, who was seen as the only hope for the nation in such trying times, not only rescued the nation but led it to a trajectory where the dream of ‘Viksit Bharat’ appears within reach for the nation.
