BJP leader and Member of Lok Sabha from Himachal’s Mandi seat Ram Swaroop Sharma passed away at his residence in Delhi on March 17. He was 62 years old.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi tweeted that he was pained by Shri Sharma’s untimely and unfortunate demise. The BJP cancelled its parliamentary party meeting following the news of his death.
BJP National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda took to twitter and said, “The mind is deeply distressed by the news of the sudden demise of Shri Ram Swaroop Sharma, BJP MP from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. I express my deepest condolences to the bereaved family and pray to God to place the departed soul at its Shri feet. Om Shanti!!!”
Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah said on the demise, “I am deeply distressed by the sudden demise of Shri Ram Swaroop Sharma, BJP MP from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. In this hour of grief, I express my condolences to his family and pray to God for the peace of the departed soul. shanti shanti shanti.”
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Jairam Thakur expressing condolence said, “We learnt about his unfortunate death in morning. We used his work as an example for party workers. We’re extremely saddened, hope his soul rests in peace.”
Shri Sharma was a two-time MP. He was elected to the Lok Sabha from the Mandi parliamentary constituency, Himachal Pradesh in 2014 and 2019.
