The spread of Covid-19 and mandatory social distancing has changed the interaction methods of BJP too. Public meetings have been replaced by video and audio conferencing or communication through social media. With all outdoor activities cancelled, party is using technology to run basic and urgent business.

As the ‘most-tech savvy party’, BJP has been tapping technology for long. Its usage, however, increased manifold during the lockdown. The party is doing seven to nine video and audio conferencing and it has an able Karyakarta network mapped out till booth level and the party leadership connects with everyone from top to bottom, using various digital mediums.

After lockdown, the BJP National President Shri JP Nadda has been regularly having video conferencing with party leaders, office bearers and Karyakartas across the country to pass on important information. There are three main agenda on which the communication has been taking place in BJP.

First is to deliver food, grain and medicines across the country through co-ordination between BJP workers and the central office.

The second is looking after issues of migrant workers in every district through a taskforce of party workers.
Thirdly, the party has also been working on convincing people to donate to PM CARES.

Leading the party leaders from the front when it comes to delivering relief and essentials to the needy during the ongoing lockdown, Shri JP Nadda has ensured that party workers continue to work for the welfare of the people and help them during their hour of need.

As a part of this process, the BJP President has held 63 video conferences, 20 audio bridges and connected with over 3.5 lakh party workers ever since the lockdown was announced by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. In many such online briefings, he was assisted by BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) Shri BL Santosh.
The BJP President has ensured that each district, Yuva Morcha, IT cell, Mahila and SC Morcha national and state executive members were spoken to regarding the need for a proactive effort by the party. Shri Nadda has also addressed the various State Presidents, General Secretary Organization, public representatives and other office bearers of the party during this period.

Shri Nadda did not let even a day go by when he did not interact with party workers. He paid attention to every minute detail that should be looked into to ensure the Central government’s decisions during lockdown are aided by foot soldiers of the party in a way that would help those affected most by the lockdown.
