Chintaman Vanga is no more

BJP leader & Member of Parliament from Palghar Chintaman Vanga died of cardiac stroke in Delhi on 31 January.
He was at 67. Shri Vanga won the 2014 Lok Sabha election by defeating then MP Baliram Jadhav of the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi. Born on June 1, 1950, an advocate by profession, Shri Vanga was elected as MP in 1996 and 1999. He was also instrumental in the introduction of the first suburban train between Dahanu and Andheri.

Expressing shock on sudden demise of the leader Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi tweeted “Pained by the unfortunate demise of my colleague and MP from Palghar, Shri Chintaman Wanaga. He played an important role in building the BJP in the Thane region and did commendable work for the welfare of tribals. My thoughts are with his family and supporters in this sad hour.”

BJP National President Shri Amit Shah also expressed his deepest condolences to his family and friends. He said “Pained to know about the untimely demise of Shri Chintaman Vanga ji, our MP from Palghar, Maharashtra. He devoted his entire life for the welfare of tribals & deprived. His passing away is an irrepairable loss to the BJP. I express my deepest condolences to his family & friends.”
