Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s statement on the Israel-Hamas crisis and the consequent terrorism that unfolded since 07 October, 2023 was unequivocal. Shri Narendra Modi on 10 October, 2023 said that he received a phone call from his Israeli counterpart Mr. Benjamin Netanyahu, who apprised him of the ongoing situation in Israel. Thanking Mr. Netanyahu for giving an update on the situation, PM Shri Modi said that people of India stand firmly with Israel in this difficult hour and India strongly and unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations Shri Modi added.
In a message on X Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said, “I thank Prime Minister @netanyahu for his phone call and providing an update on the ongoing situation. People of India stand firmly with Israel in this difficult hour. India strongly and unequivocally condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations”.
Earlier, reacting to the unprecedented multi-front attack carried out by Hamas on Israeli cities, PM Shri Modi said that he was deeply shocked by the news.
In a tweet PM Shri Modi said, “Deeply shocked by the news of terrorist attacks in Israel. Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with Israel at this difficult hour”.
Noteworthy, there are about 18,000 Indian nationals living and working in Israel and so far, there have been no untoward incidents reported involving them. The Indian mission in Tel Aviv and the Representative Office of India in Palestine on 07 October issued advisories asking Indian nationals on respective sides to remain vigilant and directly contact the Office in case of an emergency.
