India’s industrial production grew by 5.8 per cent in September on an annual basis after registering a growth of 10.3 per cent in August and 3.3 per cent in the same month a year ago, the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation (MOSPI) said on 10 November. Factory output is measured in terms of the Index of Industrial Production (IIP).
Data released by the National Statistical Office (NSO) showed that the manufacturing sector’s output grew by 4.5 per cent in September 2023 after growing 2.0 per cent in the same month last year. In August, it had grown by 9.3 per cent.
