The Bharatiya Janata Party National President, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda on 3 February addressed a press conference at Hotel Hycinth, Thampanoor in Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) and said that the CPI(M)-led LDF and the Congress-led UDF were two sides of the same coin. He alleged that the Left government in the state was ‘inefficient, corrupt and believed’ in violence. He also took a dig at Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan over the gold smuggling case detected at the Thiruvananthapuram airport, and also accused him of ‘messing up’ the COVID-19 situation in the state by ‘suppressing’ figures.
Shri Nadda said that the recently concluded local body poll in Kerala has shown that BJP has emerged as the third principle pole in state politics. The Narendra Modi led NDA government has been untainted and has shown everyone how to run a clean administration.
The BJP should come to power in Kerala to get rid of rampant corruption in the state. Gold smuggling, irregularities in the Life Mission, Sprinklr data scam, K-Fone scam, E-mobility and KIIFBI has embarrassed Kerala. Every scheme of the Pinarayi Vijayan government is another excuse to fatten their purses. The CM’s & his office’s involvement in the gold smuggling case has embarrassed all self-respecting Malayalees. With the gold smuggling case, Mr Pinarayi has lost all his credibility. He alleged that all the senior UDF leaders are facing inquiry in various corruption cases. Former CM Oommen Chandy and the Leader of Opposition Mr Ramesh Chennithala face investigation in matters related to the Solar and Bar bribery scams. Former PWD Minister and IUML leader Mr Ibrahim Kunju and IUML leader K. M. Shaji MLA are under the scanner connected with the irregularities in the Palarivattom bridge construction and disproportionate assets. Both LDF and UDF are cutting deals amongst themselves regarding the corruption cases.
As the investigation into Gold-Dollar scam progresses many Ministers and senior party leaders of the LDF have to take the light. KLA Speaker Mr P.S Ramakrishnan’s involvement in the gold-dollar scam is a disgrace to the constitutional position he holds. The CM Pinarayi Vijayan first welcomed the investigation of central agencies in the gold smuggling scam but turned against it after his Principal Secretary and blue-eyed boy M. Shivashankar was arrested.
The CM is the kingpin of the gold smuggling scam after the involvement of the CMO’s senior officials became evident.
Taking a dig at LDF govt, Sh Nadda said that the government is running a huge scam in KIIFBI’s name. CM Pinarayi Vijayan is systematically trying to weaken the constitutional bodies. The LDF government has passed a resolution against the CAG Report that the funds from abroad were brought unconstitutionally. CM Pinarayi Vijayan and his cronies are behaving as if Kerala is a sovereign republic. The LDF government has made three lakhs backdoor appointments to various government departments bypassing the Public Service Commission. The Pinarayi Vijayan government is turning the KPSC into a feeder organization of the CPI(M). Swapna Suresh, the gold smuggling scam’s prima donna, got a government job through back down appointment.
Hon’ble BJP President said that the Kerala government has miserably failed to contain the COVID19 pandemic even as the central government under PM Narendra Modi’s leadership has effectively contained the spread of novel coronavirus. Half of the active COVID19 cases are in Kerala. Kerala Health Minister’s argument that high population density is why the number of COVID19 cases is rising is illogical. Shockingly, the state government has not initiated any action despite the Test Positivity Rate at a whopping 12%. The vaccine roll out in Kerala is entirely inefficient.
Attacking Congress, The BJP National President said, The decision to project former CM Oommen Chandy as the face of UDF is a cheap ploy to attract minority voters. Chandy is the prime accused in a sex scandal, and it is clear that the Congress party hasn’t learned any lesson from its defeat in the 2016 election. The Congress backstabbed Ayyappa devotees in the Sabarimala agitation. What were the congress workers doing when women entered the Sabarimala with the aid of the state government? Karyakartas of the BJP and Vichar Parivar were charged during the Sabarimala agitation. Nearly 256 cases were registered against BJP State President Shri. K.Surendran in connection with Sabarimala agitation but not even a single Congress worker went to jail. Wayanad MP Mr.Rahul Gandhi has not uttered a single word against the CPI(M) government in the Sabarimala issue. This is the height of hypocrisy. When the agitation was going, they did not give a single statement. He said that during the Puttingal Temple incident, our Hon’ble Prime Minister reached the Temple within hours of the incident. I came here within three hours of the incident as union health minister. A team of 25 specialist doctors were deployed from premier facilities – AIIMS, Safdarjung and Ram Manohar Lohia hospitals in New Delhi amid reports of horrific burn injuries. The navy and air force also sent helicopters to evacuate the most critically injured.
Shri Nadda said that the state budget tabled lacked any vision for Kerala’s infrastructure development. However, the central government allotted Rs.65000 crore for Kerala’s NH development. The Narendra Modi government is giving the kind of support Kerala never got during the UPA regime. In the current Union Budget the central government allotted 1957 crore for the Kochi Metro development, Rs.12544 crore for Local Self-governance, Rs.1738 for Disaster Management, Rs.607 crore for Health, Rs.405 crore for Judiciary, Rs.181 crore for Higher Education, Rs.1086 crore for Agriculture, Rs.20 crore for Statistics and Rs.1100 as Special assistance to the state. The NDA government completed the Alappuzha bypass, which was in cold storage for the last 47 years. For the first time in Kerala’s history, the central government has allotted Rs.19891 crore to reduce the state’s revenue deficit for FY 2022.
Hon’ble National President Sh Jagat Prakash Nadda said that UDF & LDF, both are the two sides of the same coin. Both are Corrupt and both have lost their credibility. They both have no vision for Kerala. The Leadership of the LDF & UDF is not able to give direction.
Shri Nadda said that the BJP is quickly emerging as an alternative force in Kerala politics. No one can stop the saffron surge in Kerala. He said, the Congress party is fighting against the Left parties in Kerala while in West Bengal, they are contesting assembly elections together. The people of Kerala will definitely punish this unholy alliance. In response to a question asked in relation to Rahul Gandhi, the BJP President said that Rahul Gandhi is not such a thing to react to. Although, nobody takes Rahul Gandhi seriously too.
