Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh addressed the public rally at Ramleela Maidan in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Cabinet Minister Shri Sunil Sharma and Shri Satpal Maharaj and other leaders were present on the stage. During the address, Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh emphasized the BJP welfare initiatives. Shri Rajnath Singh criticized Congress for failing to combat corruption and highlighted BJP’s stringent measures against it.
Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh stressed that he and Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched election campaigns for the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Meerut. Shri Singh highlighted Meerut and Ghaziabad’s importance, noting that events in these cities resonate nationwide. Singh also mentioned Meerut’s historical significance as the starting point of the 1857 revolt. Shri Rajnath Singh stressed that after opting to contest from Lucknow, BJP nominated VK Singh, a two-time Member of Parliament. Shri VK Singh’s dedicated fulfilment of duties both as an MP and as a Cabinet minister.
Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh mentioned that it is customary in every political party to change candidates in constituencies to give others a fair chance. This time, the BJP election committee has decided that Shri Atul Garg will be the next candidate from the Ghaziabad Constituency. Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted that Shri Atul Garg comes from a family with a legacy of serving the people, as his father was the Mayor of Ghaziabad and fulfilled his duties with sincerity. He described Shri Atul Garg as an experienced leader with a strong political heritage.
Shri Rajnath Singh emphasized that as the upcoming elections draw near, the BJP is fully prepared to contest and ensure the development of a prosperous India under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi. He highlighted that India’s economy rose from the 11th position in 2014 to being among the top 5 largest economies globally after Shri Narendra Modi assumed office as Prime Minister. According to global economists and financial firms, India is projected to become the world’s third-largest economy by 2027. The BJP aims to realize its resolution of making India the world’s largest economy by 2047.
Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted that India, once known for its poverty, has seen significant progress under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi. He noted that over 25 crore people have risen above the poverty line during this period. Shri Singh criticized the opposition for doubting the government’s achievements, emphasizing that the data was endorsed by NITI Aayog and various global financial institutions. Shri Singh highlighted that previously, India’s global image was not very strong, but under PM Shri Narendra Modi’s governance, the nation has emerged as a global superpower, with the world paying heed to India’s voice. In any circumstances, the whole world looks after PM Shri Narendra Modi.
Union Defence Minister highlighted that during the Russia-Ukraine conflict, approximately 22,500 students were stranded in Ukraine. Upon their request, Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi swiftly intervened, engaging in telephonic discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky, and US President Joe Biden. As a result, the conflict and missile attacks were paused for 4.5 hours, enabling the safe evacuation of all 22,500 students from Ukraine. This incident showcased the emergence of a new India on the global stage, with world leaders acknowledging India’s growing influence, suggesting that the 21st century belongs to India.
Shri Rajnath Singh emphasized that during the COVID-19 pandemic, while the world grappled with the crisis, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi resolved to develop vaccines domestically. Through consultations with scientists, India successfully created vaccines for its entire population and also supplied vaccines to over 100 countries worldwide. Shri Singh noted that during the tenure of Atal Bihari Vajpayee, numerous initiatives were launched for road and highway construction, but these schemes were halted by the UPA government. While under the UPA regime, only 8-9 kilometers of roads were constructed per day, the BJP government has managed to construct approximately 38 kilometres of highways daily. The Forex reserve was almost empty before 2014, but under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi, the Forex reserve was hiked to ₹642 crore. Under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi, India’s defence sector has flourished, showcasing the nation as stronger and more self-sufficient. India has always upheld a culture of non-aggression and non-expansionism, never initiating attacks or seeking to acquire the land of other nations. Presently, India’s image reflects its readiness to respond resolutely to acts of terrorism. Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh stated that India’s defence exports are on a steady rise, with significant equipment being exported from the country. He noted that a decade ago, India’s defence exports amounted to only ₹600 crore. However, today, this figure has surged to over ₹21,000 crore.
Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted the prevalence of corruption cases during Congress governments, citing instances of Congress leaders facing imprisonment due to corruption charges. He referred to a statement by former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, indicating internal corruption within the government system. To address this, PM Shri Narendra Modi initiated the ‘treaty of Aadhar, Jan Dhan, and Mobile,’ ensuring transparent delivery of government funds to beneficiaries, thus combating corruption effectively.
Shri Rajnath Singh pointed out that currently, many Chief Ministers and leaders from opposition parties are facing jail and corruption allegations. They accused PM Shri Narendra Modi of orchestrating political vendettas against them. Shri Rajnath Singh emphasized that individuals suspecting arbitrary arrests by government agencies should seek recourse in the courts. Shri Rajnath Singh noted that despite such appeals, leaders find no reprieve as compelling evidence supports their arrests. Shri Rajnath Singh underscored that while the Congress government faced allegations of corruption, the BJP remains untainted by any such accusations.
Shri Rajnath Singh praised the government under UP CM Shri Yogi Adityanath, highlighting its admirable efforts in tackling crime and accelerating development. He credited Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi’s decisions and vision, along with Shri Yogi Adityanath’s tireless work, for the rapid pace of development in Uttar Pradesh. Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted that real-time digital transactions have surged, with 46% of global digital transactions now happening in India, leading to significant control over corruption. Shri Rajnath Singh also noted achievements such as 4 crore houses provided under Awas Yojna, construction of 11 crore toilets, free food grain under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, affordable life-saving coronary stents capped at Rs 7,500, and availability of cheap medicine at Jan Aushadhi Kendras.
Union Defence Minister affirmed that BJP has consistently upheld its promises since the days of Jan Sangh, despite opposition criticism. Shri Rajnath Singh emphasized that the BJP’s commitment to constructing the Shri Ram Mandir was long-standing and included in their manifesto. Shri Singh noted that on January 22, PM Shri Narendra Modi fulfilled this promise by performing the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Shri Ram Lalla.
Shri Rajnath Singh emphasized that during his tenure as Union Home Minister, many Pakistani Muslims were granted Indian citizenship. Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted that anyone from any country can be granted Indian citizenship if their reasons are valid. Additionally, he mentioned that over 41 crore people have received free treatment under the Ayushman Scheme, providing an annual health cover of ₹5 lakh. PM Shri Narendra Modi’s track record is glorious and no one can question it either in the country or globally. To ensure women’s empowerment and justice for rape victims, the government has introduced stringent rules stipulating that if the accused is proven guilty of rape, the punishment is death. Shri Rajnath Singh emphasized that the opposition created the INDI Alliance to challenge PM Shri Narendra Modi, but it’s driven by self-interest and cannot defeat him and the NDA. He expressed confidence that the public will favour PM Shri Narendra Modi over the INDI Alliance. Shri Rajnath Singh praised the dedicated leaders of Ghaziabad, attributing the party’s success in the region to their hard work and commitment.
