Hon’ble Union Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh addressed a public meeting in Fatehgarh Sahib and Bathinda, Punjab on Sunday. Shri Rajnath Singh highlighted the developmental work undertaken by the BJP government for Punjab and the Sikh community and also criticized AAP and the INDI alliance for their misgovernance and atrocities towards women. During the event, Fatehgarh Sahib BJP candidate Shri Gejja Ram Valmiki, Bathinda Candidate Parampal Kaur Sindhu and other leaders were present on the stage.
Respected Shri Singh stated that whenever someone asks about Punjab, the conversation always revolves around the land where might, strength, courage, bravery, and patriotism converge. This land belongs to Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s religion, knowledge, and philosophy. Guru Nanak Dev Ji is renowned worldwide, and people know about him. Brave warriors like Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Shaheed Bhagat Singh were born on this land of Punjab. Punjab is the land of Gurus, the land of braves, and also the land of farmers. The BJP government has served the country in accordance with the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, and it is only under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji that the BJP government has genuinely cared for Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings.
Hon’ble Shri Singh highlighted that the BJP government facilitated the construction of the Kartarpur Corridor, removing the restriction on foreign funds at the Harmandir Sahib. The BJP government celebrated the ‘Guru Parv’ with full reverence both nationally and internationally. The BJP government decided to celebrate ‘Veer Bal Diwas‘ in memory of Sahibzadas on December 26. Sikh and the Hindu community should understand that if the Sikh community hadn’t made sacrifices, Indian culture would be endangered today. However, in Punjab, there is an Aam Aadmi Party government whose leaders are in jail in connection with the Delhi liquor scam. Any leader should have such morality that if accused in any scam, they should resign from their position until proven innocent. When Shri Lal Krishna Advani faced allegations he resigned from Parliament membership stating he would return only once proven innocent. The public has to be careful while electing a government. However, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal refused to resign from his position as Chief Minister after going to jail in the liquor scam case, stating that he would govern from the jail. We have heard about work from the office and work from home, but for the first time, we have encountered something like work from jail. The character of a party is reflected by the character of its leader. During the agitation, Kejriwal’s mentor, Anna Hazare had said that the movement against Congress’ corruption should not be politically exploited, and hence, no political party should be formed. However, Arvind Kejriwal did not listen to his mentor’s advice and went on to form the Aam Aadmi Party. Kejriwal had also stated that after becoming the Chief Minister, he would not reside in government bungalows. However, today, the Chief Minister’s residence has been renovated like ‘Sheeshmahal.’
Union Minister Shri Singh noted that AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal was assaulted inside CM’s residence in the presence of the Chief Minister. Women’s dignity is an integral part of Indian culture, and it’s our responsibility to respect women, regardless of their political affiliation. Despite this incident, Kejriwal remained silent for 15 days and avoided making any comments. Those individuals shouldn’t hold the position of Chief Minister. The current Punjab CM belongs to the same party, with Arvind Kejriwal as his leader.
Hon’ble Shri Singh stated that the BJP hasn’t misled the populace but has engaged in politics with integrity. While past Congress administrations, from Jawaharlal Nehru to Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, and Manmohan Singh, merely pledged to eradicate poverty, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has uplift 25 crore poor out of poverty within just 9 years, driving the nation’s progress at an unparalleled pace. Today, the whole world is witnessing the creation of a new India with a new mindset. In 2014, the Indian economy was ranked 11th globally, but today, under the esteemed leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji, India has risen to the fifth position in the world economy.
Respected Shri Singh asserted that India will rank among the world’s top three economies by 2027. As per NITI Aayog, financial institutions, and economists, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji has achieved the remarkable feat of uplifting 25 crore people from poverty. Punjab is a state of farmers and the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji is committed to the upliftment of farmers. Presently, India offers the most economical urea globally, with a bag costing only 260 rupees compared to 3 thousand rupees in America. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, farmers receive financial aid of 6 thousand rupees annually. If this scheme had been under Congress rule, out of the ₹6 thousand allocated from Delhi, only ₹1 thousand would have reached the farmers, while the remaining ₹5 thousand would have been swallowed by corruption. However, the BJP government is committed to empowering and strengthening the farmers. Today, the brave sons of farmers confront the enemy bravely on the border.
Hon’ble Shri Singh emphasized that according to the American ambassador, ‘If you want to see the future come to India, if you want to realize the future come to India and if you want to work on future come to India. A Pakistani MP stated in the parliament of Pakistan that India is fast becoming a global superpower and Pakistan is begging before the world to save itself from destruction. Apart from this, Pakistan’s former minister Fawad Hussain, who claims Pakistan’s hand in the terrorist attacks in Uri and Pulwama, praises AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal and congress leader Rajiv Gandhi. BJP prioritizes the nation’s dignity, culture, and honor over familial interests, following the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Respected Shri Singh emphasized that India has evolved into a strong nation under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji. India does not bow down to any country in the world and India is capable of giving a befitting reply to any nation that challenges India. BJP is determined that the BJP government will never let India’s honor and self-respect be compromised. Numerous development projects have been undertaken in Punjab, such as the operation of the Vande Bharat train. However, beyond development, the BJP is contesting elections with the aim of enhancing India’s global standing and pride.
Hon’ble Shri Singh said that earlier, when India spoke at international forums, its words were not taken seriously, but today, under Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s leadership, when India speaks, the whole world listens carefully to India’s stand. The earlier perception about India used to be that it is a country of the poor, but today, that perception has changed. Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji resolves that by 2047, India will stand as a developed nation in the world. At the pace India is progressing, by 2070-75, it will become the wealthiest country in the world.
Respected Shri Singh said that Arvind Kejriwal used to say that if the Aam Aadmi Party government is formed, all liquor shops will be closed, but now in Delhi, liquor shops have opened in every street. Even in Punjab, under the AAP government’s leadership, the drug business has grown, destroying the youth. Once the BJP government is formed in Punjab, all drug businesses will be permanently shut down.
Hon’ble Shri Singh said that INDI alliance alleges that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji misuses the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate against opposition parties. The truth is that during Congres’s rule, ED confiscated assets worth ₹32 lahks. Under the BJP government’s policy of zero tolerance for corruption, the ED has seized more than cash worth ₹22 thousand crores and confiscated assets worth more than ₹1 lakh crores. The INDI alliance accused the BJP of planning to establish dictatorship and amend the constitution after crossing the 400 seats. Although, it is the the Congress party that has dissolved the government more than 70 times after independence.
Respected Shri Singh said that Congress party and INDI alliance conspires to weaken the country. INC leader Charanjit Singh Channi referred to the attack on soldiers of the Indian army as an election stunt. During Congress’s rule, terrorism was rampant across India, with no state immune to terrorist attacks. But now, there is no terrorist activity occurring in any part of India. During the Congress government in 2008, after the Mumbai terrorist attack, former Mumbai home minister remarked that such incidents are bound to happen. The INDI Alliance is spreading the misinformation among people regarding the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The CAA was formulated in 2014 to address the plight of Hindu, Sikh, and Buddhist refugees who came from Pakistan. If any Hindu, Sikh, or Buddhist facing religious persecution in Bangladesh or Pakistan comes to India, BJP will grant them citizenship to honour their dignity.
Hon’ble Shri Singh said that after the setback of the Chandrayaan mission, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji reassured the scientists, and then India became the only country to attempt landing on the South Pole of the moon with Chandrayaan-3. Political analysts across the country are saying that the BJP is poised to form the government. Rahul Gandhi lost in Amethi and has moved to Kerala. After loosing in Raebareli, where will he go? The BJP government aims to implement “One Nation One Election” within the first five years of its tenure, combining the state assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Global leaders recognize India as the leader of the 21st century. In Punjab, the mining mafia, drug issues, and shooter gangs operate freely. The state is heavily indebted, yet the Chief Minister seems indifferent, focusing more on attending ‘Delhi Darbar’
