The BJP National President, Shri JP Nadda launched the ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ programme in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh on 02 September, 2023. He inaugurated the campaign by placing soil from Major Mohit Sharma’s home in Ghaziabad into an earthen pot. These pots will be collected at the block level and brought to Delhi.

Addressing the Karyakartas at the launch of ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign, the BJP National President said with the Chandrayaan mission, India has become the first nation to land a spacecraft on the South Pole region of the Moon.

He said India has experienced significant growth in the field of infrastructure adding that over the past nine years, India has risen to the fifth position, surpassing the United Kingdom, to become the fifth-largest economy.

“Meri Maati Mera Desh”

Noteworthy, “Meri Maati Mera Desh” is a nationwide and people led “Jan Bhagidari” initiative to commemorate 75 years of India’s independence. It is the finale of “Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” programme. ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ celebrates the many achievements of the nation. It involves paying tribute to the ‘Veers’ who protect our nation. The ceremonies would be conducted at the village, Panchayat, Block, Urban Local body, State and National level. Soil from the villages of India will be collected at block level and then finally brought to the National Capital along with volunteers from each block who would assemble at Kartavya Path. An ‘Amrit Vatika’ would be planted in the Capital and the Hon’ble Prime Minister would administer the ‘Panch Pran’ pledge to volunteers.

Shri Nadda further urged people to visit villages and panchayats with the aim of ‘Amrit Kaal’ and take a pledge to transform India into a developed nation by August 15, 2047. “I request you all to go to villages, panchayats with the objective of ‘Amrit Kaal’ and take the resolve to make India a developed nation by August 15, 2047”.
“I have taken a pinch of soil from five households along with two granules of rice and we’ll collect it from every ward in a vessel. This vessel will reach the Municipal Corporation or Committee and from there it will reach the state’s capital Lucknow.

Our Chief Minister will welcome it and our workers will carry 8000 vessels from 7500 blocks and 500 municipalities to Kartavya Path in Delhi at the end of October. All the BJP workers there will take an oath of the ‘Desh ki Maati’ that they will take care of the safety and security of the nation and will not leave any stone unturned in making India a developed nation in the Amrit Kaal,” he added.

Criticising the third meeting of the Opposition’s I.N.D.I.A. alliance, BJP National President said that the leaders who had gathered in Mumbai want to take their own families forward, whereas Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi aims to take the country forward.
