PM inaugurates and lays foundation stone of multiple projects worth 20,000 crores in Tamil Nadu

PM’s visit to Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep and Kerala

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi on January 2 inaugurated, dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone of development projects worth more than Rs 20,000 crores in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. The development projects include sectors such as rail, road, oil and gas, and shipping sectors in Tamil Nadu.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said today’s projects worth more than Rs 20,000 crores will strengthen Tamil Nadu’s progress as he congratulated the people of the state for projects spanning sectors of roadways, railways, ports, airports, energy and petroleum pipelines. He said that many of these projects would boost travel and also create thousands of employment opportunities in the state.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal for the next 25 years will play a crucial role in India becoming a developed nation. He referred to both economic and cultural aspects when it comes to Viksit Bharat as he underlined that Tamil Nadu is a reflection of India’s prosperity and culture.

Referring to the rich heritage of Tiruchirappalli, PM Shri Modi said that here we find the remnants of good governance models of dynasties like Pallava, Chola, Pandyas and Nayak dynasties. He said that he mentions Tamil Culture at any given opportunity during his travels abroad.

The Prime Minister informed about India’s huge investments in sectors such as roadways, railways, ports, airports, homes for the poor and hospitals in the last 10 years as he underlined the government’s emphasis on physical infrastructure. He also mentioned India breaking into the top 5 economies of the world where it has become a ray of hope for the world.

Referring to the Sagarmala Yojna, the Prime Minister informed that ports in the country are being connected with better roads.

PM inaugurates projects worth 1150 crores in Lakshadweep

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi on 3rd January inaugurated, dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone of development projects worth more than Rs 1150 crores in Kavaratti, Lakshadweep. The development projects of today cover a wide range of sectors including technology, energy, water resources, healthcare and education. The Prime Minister handed out laptops to students under the Laptop Scheme and gave away bicycles to school students under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao. He also handed out PM Kisan Credit Cards to farmer and fishermen beneficiaries.
The Prime Minister indicated the long neglect of remote, border or coastal and Island areas. “Our government has made such areas our priority”, he said. He congratulated the people of the area for the projects related to infrastructure, connectivity, water, health and child care.

PM Modi mentioned steps taken for the Haj Yatris that have benefited the people of Lakshadweep too. He noted the ease for Haj visa and digitalization of the process for visa and permission for women to go on Haj without ‘Mehram’. These efforts have led to a significant rise in the number of Indians going for ‘Umrah’, he said.

• In a transformative move, the Prime Minister had resolved to overcome the challenge of slow internet speed in Lakshadweep by initiating the Kochi-Lakshadweep Islands Submarine Optical Fiber Connection (KLI – SOFC) project which was announced during the Independence Day speech at Red Fort in 2020. The project has now been completed and was inaugurated by the Prime Minister.
• The dedicated submarine OFC will ensure a paradigm shift in communication infrastructure in the Lakshadweep islands, enabling faster and more reliable internet services, telemedicine, e-governance, educational initiatives, digital banking, digital currency usage, digital literacy etc.

The daughters of Kerala have shaped India’s Freedom, Culture, and constitution: PM

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi visited Kerala on December 3.During his visit, he addressed the Sthree Shakti Modikoppam in Thekkinkadu, Kerala. He remarked, “Thrissur Pooram festival of Kerala is world-renowned and showcases the essence of Kerala”.

Acknowledging the prominence of Nari Shakti, PM Shri Modi said, “Women like ‘Velu Nachiyar & Savitribai Phule represents India’s powerful Nari Shakti”. Speaking on the daughters of Kerala, PM Shri Modi said, “The daughters of Kerala have shaped India’s Freedom, Culture, and constitution”. He said that various daughters of Kerala, including Bhagirathi Amma, Anju Bobby George and PT Usha, among others, have brought great laurels to India.

Speaking on the prominence of ‘Modi’s guarantee’ as a term, PM Shri Modi said, “India’s Nari Shakti will ensure the ‘Sankalp se Siddhi’ of a Viksit Bharat”.

Lamenting the LDF-UDF, PM Modi said, “The politics of LDF-UDF has always been to weaken the Nari Shakti”. He added that Modi guaranteed to empower Nari Shakti through the passage of the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ and the Act prohibiting ‘Triple Talaq’. Reiterating his vision for a Viksit Bharat, PM Shri Modi said, “We intend to create a Viksit Bharat by developing an empowered force of Nari Shakti”.

Speaking on the four castes in India, PM Shri Modi said, “Nari Shakti, Youth, Farmers and the Poor are the only four castes in India”. He said that the government is striving for the empowerment of all.

PM Shri Modi said, “The LDF-UDF Governments in Kerala only intended to deprive its people of true development”. He remarked, “Over the last ten years, the N.D.A. has only striven to ensure last-mile saturation of schemes, enabling the progress of all”.
