Ram Temple Trust delegation meets PM Modi, invites him to Ayodhya

The officials of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust led by its president Mahant Nritya Gopal Das Maharaj on 20 February, 2020 met Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and invited him to Ayodhya.
“We met Prime Minister Shri Modi and invited him to visit Ayodhya. The Prime Minister has assured us that he will think over the proposal. He also said that the grand temple will be built soon,” Mahant Nritya Gopal Das Maharaj told media persons after the hour-long meeting with PM Shri Modi at his official residence in New Delhi.

Maharaj further said: “We requested that the wait for the Ram temple has become too long and, therefore, the construction should begin soon.”
Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Champat Rai, who was also a part of the delegation, said: “This was a courtesy meeting. All of us came here upon the invitation of the Prime Minister.”

Shri K Parasaran and Swami Govind Giriji Maharaj were also part of the delegation, which met the Prime Minister.

The Trust members had nominated Mahant Nritya Gopal Das of Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas as its president whereas VHP’s Champat Rai was made the general secretary.

Meanwhile after the formation of the trust the first meeting of the Ram Mandir Trust to oversee the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya was held on February 19, 2020 in New Delhi at the residence of K Parasaran, the head of the Trust.

Noteworthy, PM Shri Narendra Modi had announced the formation of the 15-member trust in Parliament on February 5. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust has seven members, five nominated members and three trustees. The trust was formed in adherence to the Supreme Court verdict on the Ayodhya dispute in November last year.

Senior lawyer Parasaran has been named the head of the Trust and its other members include Jagatguru Shankracharya, Jyothish Peethadheeshwar Swami Vasudevanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj from Allahabad, Jagatguru Madhavacharya Swami Vishwa Prasannatheerth Ji Maharaj, Pejawar Math in Udupi, Yugpurush Paramanand Ji Maharaj from Haridwar, Swami Govinddev Giri Ji Maharaj from Pune and Vimlendra Mohan Pratap Mishra from Ayodhya.
