PM addresses at Kshetriya Panchayati Raj Parishad in Haryana

BJP National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, along with Haryana Chief Minister Shri Manohar Lal Khattar, inaugurated a two-day conference of the BJP Kshetriya Panchayati Raj Parishad meeting in Surajkund, Haryana on August 7, 2023. The event was graced with the virtual presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister also addressed the gathering on the occasion. The conference discussed and deliberated on key issues relating to regional governance and the role of Panchayat Raj institutions.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the ‘Kshetriya Panchayati Raj Parishad’ meeting on August 7, 2023. Addressing the gathering, Shri Modi said, “Today, the country is moving forward with full enthusiasm to fulfil the resolutions of Amrit Kaal and to build a developed India. He said, “District Panchayats hold tremendous potential to drive significant transformations in various sectors. In this context, your role as representatives of the BJP becomes exceptionally vital.”

Congress failed to implement Panchayati Raj

Criticizing the Congress party, Prime Minister Shri Modi highlighted that for four decades after Independence, the Congress failed to grasp the importance of implementing the Panchayati Raj system in villages. Consequently, the District Panchayat system, established later, was neglected during the Congress rule. As a result, two-third of the country’s population living in villages were left longing for basic necessities like roads, electricity, water, banks and houses, becoming their unfortunate fate. This negligence is the very reason why, even after seven decades of independence around 18,000 villages in the country still lacked access to electricity.

Farmers’ welfare schemes

Talking about the farmers’ welfare schemes, Shri Modi iterated, “In the last 9 years, such a system has been created for the farmers from seed to market, which reduces the cost of farming and increases the income. Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, 2,60,000 crore rupees have been directly deposited in the accounts of the farmers. The urea which our farmers are getting for less than Rs.300, costs up to Rs.3000 in many countries. Farmers have also received compensation of more than 1,30,000 crore rupees through the PM Fasal Bima Yojana.”

Economic condition of rural women

He also talked about the positive impact of many of central schemes that improved social and economic condition of rural women. He said, “In the last 9 years, bank accounts of about 50 crore people were opened under the Jan Dhan Yojana. Most of the beneficiaries of this scheme are women. Mudra loans, increased financial assistance to self-help groups have given village women a new means of self-employment.”

The Prime Minister said in the next 5 years, multipurpose PACS, Primary Fisheries Societies, Dairy Cooperatives will be formed in 2 lakh villages.

Corruption, dynasty and appeasement

Furthermore, Prime Minister Shri Modi launched a fierce critique against the opposition bloc ‘INDIA,’ asserting that the public is saying now “Quit India” to all the ills of the country, such as “corruption, dynasty and appeasement”. He eloquently emphasized the stark difference between India before and after 2014, highlighting the remarkable development initiatives undertaken in the past nine years.

‘Where there is a lotus sign, there is welfare of the poor’

Addressing the BJP representatives, PM Shri Modi said, “You have to remain humble and work in coordination with the people of the organization and the Karyakartas. Today, such an image of BJP has been created in the country in which the poor believe that ‘Where there is a lotus sign, there is welfare of the poor’. ‘Where there is a lotus sign, there will definitely be help to the poor. Where there is a lotus sign, no poor person will have to wander there. You have to make the identity of your office like this. Service should be your biggest priority.”

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of humility and cooperation with both the organization and the Karyakartas. He highlighted the positive image the BJP has acquired in the country, with the perception among the poor that “Where there is a lotus sign, there is welfare for the poor.”
