New Education Policy: Govt. to promote all Indian Languages equally

Union HRD Minister Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said today that the govt. is committed to promote all Indian languages equally through the New Education Policy and government is taking necessary steps to strengthen all Indian languages.

Dr Pokhriyal informed the house that after studying the current education system for two years, the Kasturi Rangan Committee has submitted a draft on new Education Policy on 31st May 2019.

The Committee constituted on 24th June 2017 held 70 meetings across the country and has received suggestions from national and international experts in the field.

Replying to the objections raised by the AIMIM Member Asaduddin Owaisi and other members, the Minister also clarified that the New Education Policy still is in a draft stage and kept in public domain to receive suggestions.

The Minister said that the Government is also open to receive suggestions on the policy from the Members and any other stake holders.
