Himachal Pradesh Assembly Election 2017 : BJP releases full list of candidates

The Bharatiya Janata Party, released its first list of candidates on 18 October, 2017 for the Assembly election to be held on 09 November, 2017. The party held several meetings, twice with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and thrice with BJP National President Shri Amit Shah, to come up with a list of candidates for the 68-member House.

The Election Commission had announced the poll schedule for Himachal Pradesh on 12 October. The votes will be cast in one phase on 09 November. Counting of votes will take place on 18 December. The filing of nomination will start on 16 October. The last date for filing nomination is 23 October. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on October 24 while the last date for withdrawal of nomination is 26 October.

Noteworthy, in 2012, the Assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh were also held in one phase on 04 November. The results were announced on 20 December.
