Kozhikode and Gwalior in UNESCO Creative Cities Network; PM Congratulates

A proud moment for India. As per the latest UNESCO List of Creative Cities Network released on 31 October 2023, Kozhikode in Kerala has been designated as the UNESCO ‘City of Literature’ and Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh as the ‘City of Music’ .

These cities get acknowledged and recognized for their strong commitment to harnessing culture and creativity. In his message on social media, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said, “India’s cultural vibrancy shines brighter on the global stage with Kozhikode’s rich literary legacy and Gwalior’s melodious heritage now joining the esteemed UNESCO Creative Cities Network. Congratulations to the people of Kozhikode and Gwalior on this remarkable achievement!
