PM Modi Story

India witnessed a historic event when Pran-Pratishtha of Ram Lalla was performed in the Garbhgrih of grand Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. PM Shri Narendra Modi was also present on this auspicious occasion.

PM Shri Narendra Modi was closely involved with every aspect of Ram Mandir. Ever since the start of the construction of Ram Mandir, Shri Modi provided his valuable suggestions regarding various aspects related to construction. Here are a few suggestions that PM Shri Modi provided during the construction of Ram Mandir.

Construction to stand thousands of years

Ram Mandir is located at the bank of Saryu River which has sandy land. There was a discussion on the foundation of the temple. Shri Modi suggested that the construction be such that the temple should land for thousands of years. Iron could not be used because it would have a lifespan of 100 years, even cement would only last for 250-300 years. In the wake of such a situation, under PM Shri Modi’s guidance a committee of experts was formed for finding technical solution. Based on the recommendation of the committee, it was decided that several layers of materials be filled below and then a granite base will be used in the foundation of Ram Mandir to give it a lifespan of at least thousand years.

Showcasing Indian temple architecture styles

Shri Modi was of the view that the devotees coming to Ayodhya should get a glimpse of various temple architecture styles of all the temples of India, thus a museum of temples was also made a part of Ram Mandir.

Surya Tilak on Ram Navami

Shri Ram was Suryavanshi. The PM suggested to construct the Ram Mandir in such a way that on the day of Ram Navami, sunrays bless Ram Lalla with Surya Tilak. CSIR explored on PM Shri Modi’s suggestion and they got success. Now on every Ram Navami, Ram Lalla will be blessed with Surya Tilak.

Sapta Mandapam

Shri Ram’s life is an epitome of social harmony and this should reflect in Ram Mandir. Towards this, the PM proposed the idea to have prominent importance given to all those who were integral part of Shri Ram’s life. Therefore, dedicated spaces for Rishis like Valmiki, Vashishth and others like Shabari, Nishadraj, Jatayu, Ahilya and many others was included as Sapta Mandapam in the temple complex.

Sanctity of Garbha Griha

PM Shri Modi’s detailed observation covered all aspects of the Ram Mandir. He talked about the sanctity of sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Mandir. Swami Govinddev Giri, member of Shri Ramjanmabhumi Teerth Kshetra recalls that the PM suggested to adopt the format of Somnath Temple, where only the priests are allowed inside the Garbh Grih. It helps in maintaining the sanctity of Garbh Grih.

Involvement of community in building the temple

The trustees of the Shree Ram Janmabhumi Teerth Kshetra recalls that PM Shri Modi has been always of the view that construction of the mandir should involve the whole people of the country. Thus, the Mandir was constructed with contributions from people across the nation.

Facilities for Divyang

Devotees in large numbers will throng to Ram Mandir to get a Darshan of Ram Lalla. In this scenario there should be appropriate arrangements for devotees, especially for the Divyangs. They must not be made to wait for too long and facilitated for Darshan of Ram Lalla. This idea was also proposed by PM Shri Modi at the start of the construction of Ram Mandir.
