Statement on Ram Temple
BJP National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda made a statement on ‘Ram Temple’ at the BJP National Convention in New Delhi on 18 February 2024.
Expressing deep satisfaction, he said the construction of a grand and divine temple of Lord Shri Ram at Ayodhya is a historic and glorious achievement for the country. This heralds the establishment of ‘Ramrajya’ in India for the next one thousand years with the beginning of a new ‘Kalachakra’. The BJP Convention heartily congratulated Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for successfully conducting the consecration of Lord Ramlalla. Following is the full text of the statement:

The construction of a grand and divine temple of Lord Shri Ram at his birthplace in the ancient holy city of Ayodhya is a historic and glorious achievement for the country. This heralds the establishment of ‘Ramrajya’ in India for the next one thousand years with the beginning of a new ‘Kalachakra’. This convention of the Bharatiya Janata Party heartily congratulates the leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister for successfully conducting the consecration of Lord Ramlalla.
The consecration ceremony of Shri Ramlalla was celebrated as a national festival which established the beginning of a new era. Ram Mandir is a symbol of India’s vision, philosophy, and path of enlightenment. Shri Ram Temple has truly become a temple of national consciousness. Every Indian is happy to see the divine life-consecration of Lord Shri Ram amidst the villages and towns which have been painted with the colors of devotion and the joyful slogan of ‘Jai Jai Shri Ram’ seems to ring from every corner of the country. The Prime Minister of this culture-conscious country, Shri Narendra Modi gave grandeur to this historical moment and created an atmosphere of celebration.
It was the determination of the Bharatiya Janata Party, that a grand Ram temple should be built in Ayodhya. By the grace of Lord Shri Ram, Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji got the privilege of doing both the sacred work of ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ and ‘Pran Pratistha’ of this historical temple.
After the decision of the Supreme Court on 9 November 2019, the Central Government led by Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi without any delay formed Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, as a result of which the construction work of Shri Ram temple went on at a fast pace and within just four years, the consecration of the idol of Ramlalla was completed on 22 January 2024.
22 January was the day of aspiration and accomplishment for crores of Ram devotees, the renaissance of India’s spiritual consciousness, and the beginning of the journey back to great India. With the blessings of Lord Shri Ram, 22 January became a holy occasion for all Indians and Ram devotees spread across the world.
Many generations had kept wishes in their hearts for hundreds of years, that has been fulfilled at a time when the nation is moving towards achieving the goals of a Viksit Bharat under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The grand and divine Ram Temple of Ayodhya is imprinted in the consciousness of every Indian and has become a reflection of the richness of cultural heritage.
The nation, freeing itself from the mentality of slavery, creates a new history by taking inspiration from every part of the past. Under the leadership of the Honorable Prime Minister, our government has achieved unprecedented and remarkable success in preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of India.
In the last ten years, under his leadership, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji worked to connect the spiritual heritage of India with the unity of the country. Through his unwavering commitment towards religion, he started many such programs that are taking India towards a bright future.
It is noteworthy that Lord Shri Ram, Mata Sita, and the Ramayana are present in every aspect of Indian civilization and culture. Our Constitution, dedicated to our democratic values and justice for all, has been inspired by the ideals of Ramrajya. Even in the original copy of the Constitution of India, in the section on fundamental rights, the picture of Lord Shri Ram, Mother Sita, and Lakshman ji after returning to Ayodhya after the victory, is proof of the fact that Lord Shri Ram is the source of inspiration for the fundamental rights. The idea of Ramrajya was also in the heart of Mahatma Gandhi. He used to say that the idea of Ramrajya is the idea of true democracy. Following the ideals of Lord Shri Ram, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has implemented the spirit of Ram Rajya in the true sense by establishing good governance in the country. The temple of Lord Shri Ram will play a decisive role in fulfilling the resolve that we have adopted in building Viksit Bharat.
Our Honorable Prime Minister has played an impeccable role in uniting the entire nation on this auspicious occasion associated with Lord Shri Ram. He followed the difficult Yama-Niyamas with full dedication to the ritual of consecration of the idol of Shri Ramlalla. During this, he also visited important pilgrimage places associated with Lord Shri Ram from Nashik to Lepakshi and Triprayar to Rameshwaram and gave the message of national unity. This journey has awakened a wonderful, spiritual consciousness in the entire public. Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji took special care of participating in this ritual and maintaining its dignity and sanctity. In fulfillment of this historic, unprecedented resolve, this general gathering is thankful to Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. This convention also thanks the Prime Minister for his efforts and penance.
Today, the country is happy. Ram’s energy, Ram’s glory has settled in the temple of the mind of the country. The movement for the Ram temple was a story of offerings, sacrifices, struggle, resolve and accomplishment. Therefore, this convention joins the joy and enthusiasm of the countrymen on this occasion with full unity, devotion and also, through this statement, is grateful towards Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. This is an unforgettable moment in the country’s development journey, which is extremely important for India socially, culturally, and historically.
Undoubtedly, the ritual of construction of Shri Ram temple could be completed because of the blessings of Shri Ram on the Prime Minister. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, full of determination, is taking the country to new heights in this age of ‘Amrit Kaal’. The values that Lord Shri Ram inculcated in his words and thoughts are the inspiration for ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas’ and the basis of ‘Sabka Vishwas-Sabka Prayas’. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, India’s unity and solidarity has received the power of public participation. He has raised the morale of the nation with his policies and leadership. For this, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji deserves to be congratulated.
Indian cultural, spiritual, and historical pride has been restored in the last ten years. This convention congratulates the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji for making the shared power of heritage and development the identity of the New India through his determined efforts and thanks the Prime Minister for making the whole of India experience the magic of Ram. We all are very proud to adopt this statement related to the grand temple of Lord Shri Ram, which has become a symbol of the sentiments of the people in Ayodhya.
