PM Visits Una and Chamba in Himachal Pradesh

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi visited Himachal Pradesh on 13 October, 2022. Shri Modi flagged off the Vande Bharat Express from Una Himachal railway station. Thereafter, in a public function, the Prime Minister dedicated the IIIT Una to the nation and laid the foundation stone of Bulk Drug Park at Haroli in the district, which will be built at a cost of over Rs 1900 crore. The Park will help reduce dependence on Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) imports. It is expected to attract investment of around Rs. 10,000 crores and provide employment to more than 20,000 people. In a huge public function at Chamba, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of two hydropower projects – the 48 MW Chanju-III and the 30 MW Deothal Chanju and launched Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)-III in Himachal Pradesh.

‘New India’ overcoming challenges of past & growing rapidly
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed a massive public meeting in Una by paying tribute to Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Gurus of Sikhism, Maa Chintpoorni and expressed happiness on inaugurating development projects in Himachal Pradesh before Dhanteras and Diwali.

The Prime Minister highlighted that it is a big day for industrialization and education of the country. “Today work is beginning on the second Bulk Drug Park of the country at Una. Various projects have been inaugurated or foundation stones have been laid. These will greatly benefit the people”, he added.

Shri Modi said the time has changed for the better now and the present government is not only working to fulfill the needs of the people but also aiming to realise their hopes and aspirations with utmost dedication and force.

He said, “Our government is fulfilling the aspirations of 21st century India. We are not only filling the basic developments but also building strong pillars of foundation for the future of the state”.

Shri Modi said rural roads are being constructed at double the speed and broadband connectivity is being taken to Gram Panchayats. He said the ‘New India’ is overcoming the challenges of the past and growing rapidly.

Vande Bharat Express flagged off

Earlier, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi flagged off the inaugural run of the new Vande Bharat Express from Amb Andaura, Una to New Delhi. The Prime Minister inspected the train coaches and took stock of the onboard facilities. He also inspected Una railway station.

The introduction of the train will help boost tourism in the region and provide a comfortable and faster mode of travel. It is the fourth Vande Bharat train introduced in the country and the travel time from Una to New Delhi will be reduced substantially. It is equipped with advanced state-of-the-art safety features including an indigenously developed Train Collision Avoidance System – KAVACH.

PM lays foundation stone of two hydropower projects
Laying the foundation stone of two hydropower projects and launching the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)-III in Chamba, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed a huge gathering and said, “Today, the adage that ‘Pahad ka Paani aur Pahad ki Jawani, Pahad ke Kaam nahi aati’ i.e. Youth and water of hills is not used for hills, is changing. Now the youth of hills will play an active part in the development of the area”, PM said.

He said the next 25 years are very crucial for 130 crore Indians. India’s ‘Azadi ka Amrit Kaal’ has begun during which we have to accomplish the goal of making India a developed country.

The Prime Minister noted that Himachal today, realizes the strength of the double-engine government which has doubled the pace of development in the state. The working style of double-engine government is different from the rest. Our priority is how to make people’s lives easier. That’s why we are giving maximum emphasis on tribal areas, and hilly areas.
