PM inaugurates Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya’s 72-ft tall statue and pays floral tribute on his Jayanti

Addressing the BJP Karyakartas after inaugurating Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya’s 72-ft tall statue in Delhi on his Jayanti in New Delhi on 25 September, 2023, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said, “I am honoured to inaugurate his statue at ‘Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya Park’ in Delhi, and it’s truly remarkable that we are witnessing this wonderful and happy coincidence. On one side, we have Deendayal Upadhyaya Park, and right across stands the headquarters of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Today, the BJP has grown into a formidable banyan tree, all thanks to the seeds he sowed.”

The statue has been erected in Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya park opposite to the BJP headquarters on Deendayal Upadhyaya Marg in the national capital.

“This statue of Deendayal ji will become a symbol of the pledge of ‘Nation First’. This statue will inspire the vision of integral humanism given by Deendayal ji. This statue will remind us of our Antyodaya resolve. This statue will also become a symbol of the fact that we have to always keep political purity alive in the country,” he said after paying floral tribute to the 72-ft tall statue of Deendayal Ji.

PM Shri Modi said in the last nine years, we have worked towards the upliftment of those in the lowest rung of the society. This statue will stand as a symbol of honesty in politics and will remind people of the need to ensure transparency and probity in public life. He urged people to take some time out to visit the memorial of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya in Rajasthan.

When BJP was in power in Rajasthan, we had built a memorial of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. I had the privilege to spend some time there today and would urge all of you to take some time out to visit the place, he told the Karyakartas.

Speaking about the principles of Pt. Deendayal Ji, PM Shri Modi remarked, “I consistently encourage our dedicated Karyakartas to incorporate Deendayal Ji’s seven sutras into their lives. Today, let us once again reflect upon these sutras. These sutras are service, balance, restraint, coordination, positivity, compassion and communication.”

He went on to emphasize, “In all the schemes running in the country today, the spirit of service, coordination and compassion of our Karyakartas can further increase their impact. If our Karyakartas wholeheartedly connect with the joys and sorrows of the people through a spirit of service, it will provide new vigor to the expansion of these schemes.”

Speaking to the Karyakartas, Shri Modi brought up the historic passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament, saying, “There cannot be democratic integration without the involvement of women in politics. The passage of the women’s reservation Bill marks the victory of the BJP’s ideology,” the PM said.
The Prime Minister also invoked the success of the G20 summit and the country’s lunar landing mission, Chandrayaan-3.

Shri Modi said, “Today, India is shedding its colonial legacy and changing its global image by showcasing its capabilities. After the success of Chandrayaan-3, leading nations across the globe lauded the country’s strides in the field of science and marvelled at the ability of the common Indians. Also, the global praise that our country earned after the successful hosting of the G20 summit filled the hearts of all fellow citizens with pride. It has further enhanced the prestige of all fellow countrymen in the eyes of the world”.

PM Shri Modi said to achieve this position, India did not have to change its identity and its values. Rather, we presented Indian culture to the world with full pride. This is the dream of Deendayal ji, which we are fulfilling today. “When a government sets big goals and takes everyone along in achieving them, the scale of the success is that much more. The success of the people makes us more proud than individual success,” he added.

Concluding his speech, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi remarked, “It is now our duty to elevate our efforts to their pinnacle during this Amrit Kaal. It is our solemn responsibility to construct the golden future for India, a vision cherished by stalwarts like Upadhyaya Ji.”
