As Drug Controller General of India (DGCI) granted emergency use authorisation to two “Made in India” Covid vaccines, India took a giant leap in its fight against the Covid-19 pandemic. It is indeed a matter of great pride for India that not one but two vaccines are now ready for the commencement of anti-Covid-19 vaccination drive on mass level in the country. The DCGI approval of Serum Institute of India’s Covishield and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin vaccines shows how challenges can be converted into opportunities if a nation is determined and dedicated to the cause. While the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer Serum Institute of India has tied up with AstraZeneca and manufactured Covishield and Covaxin has been indigenously developed by Bharat Biotech in collaboration with Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), India is feeling proud of its scientific community for realising the dream of “Made in India” vaccines. This remarkable achievement is set to strengthen India’s fight against the pandemic and pave the path for a Covid-free world in the coming days.

Every Indian today feels proud of the way the country has fought against the Covid-19 pandemic. The nation, under the dynamic and charismatic leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, has not only responded to every challenge thrown by the pandemic with alacrity but also helped other countries in the time of crisis. If one looks back at the time when some sceptics tried to create panic in the initial days of pandemic raising doubts about India’s capabilities to even manufacture masks and sanitizer, the nation has today silenced them by unleashing its potential in the form of vaccines while even exporting PPE kits, masks, medical equipments and even medicines to other countries. The challenges of pandemic were converted into opportunities by creating a robust health infrastructure, equipping hospitals with “Made in India” ventilators, by manufacturing PPE kits, masks and sanitizer on mass scale and by conducting massive awareness programme across the country. Apart from these major initiatives, a massive relief package was announced covering the poorest of the poor and giving ration and other relief materials directly to more than 80 crore people during the pandemic. A large number of initiatives were taken to keep the economy afloat and pave the path for an ‘Aatmnirbhar India’ in the post- Covid-19 world. The positive impact of a large number of reform initiatives in almost every sector can be seen in the transformation of the economy with the emergence of a confident India ready to arrive at the global stage. The ‘Seva Karya’ done by the BJP karykartas under the inspiration of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and under the guidance of BJP National President Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda during the pandemic has presented a glowing example to the entire world. It has shown how a political party of dedicated karykakartas can serve millions of people in crisis and give the message of service, unity and solidarity.

India’s resolve to fight against the pandemic can be seen in the manufacture of “Made in India” Covashield and Covaxin which one huge contributions of Indian scientific community to the entire humanity. The nation is also proud of its doctors, nurses, health workers, lab technicians, medical staffs and Corona warriors who served the people during pandemic even while risking their own lives. While Congress and its allies along with many sceptics continuously doubted the capabilities of the nation in fighting the pandemic, the nation remained strongly united and determined under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and recorded many remarkable achievements in this long and historic fight. While the morale of the nation remained high during the pandemic, the recent news of everyday declining Covid-19 cases are reassuring the people of the strength of national unity and togetherness. While India is moving towards a healthier and Covid free future, the Made in India vaccines symbolize the spirit of ‘Aatmnirbhar Bharat’ committed to the welfare of entire humanity.
