Shiv Sena praised on Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi as the BJP-led NDA appeared to be retaining power comfortably, saying nobody would be able to pose a challenge before him for the next 25 years. The Uddhav Thackeray-led party had often criticized the BJP in the last five years but eventually sealed a fresh alliance with it ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. Sena MP Shri Sanjay Raut said that people had given a befitting reply to opposition parties who created “an atmosphere of illusion” against Modi over issues such as the Rafale fighter jet deal. “The entire country is `Modi-may’ (in thrall of Modi),” said Raut.

Rajnath Singh Leads by 3,12,000 votes

Lucknow is a stronghold for the BJP and it is seat which sent Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to the Parliament. Home Minister and former BJP president Shri Rajnath Singh had comfortably won the Lucknow seat in 2014 and is confident of his re-election this time around as well. His main opponent on the seat is a newcomer, SP’s Poonam Sinha, wife of Congress leader and actor Shatrughan Sinha. SP is hoping to lure Kayasth voters by fielding Sinha, but the community has long supported BJP in Lucknow. The SP-BSP combine had asked Congress to not put up a candidate on the seat, but the grand old party has fielded the spiritual guru Acharya Pramod Krisham.
Both Congress and SP would be hoping to attract the sizable minority vote in Lucknow, but Singh’ secular and clean image has won him support from Muslims in Lucknow seat as well.

Several International Leaders Congratulate Narendra Modi

Several international leaders congratulated Shri Narendra Modi as the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance is all set for a historic win. The trends are showing that NDA is leading in 334 out of 542 Lok Sabha seats.

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the election results reaffirmed Modi’s leadership. “Congratulations, my friend Narendra Modi, on your impressive election victory!” he tweeted. “The election results further reaffirm your leadership of the world’s largest democracy. Together we will continue to strengthen the great friendship between India & Israel. Well done, my friend!”

Chinese President Xi Jinping congratulated Modi. In his letter, Xi said he is looking forward to work with Modi. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe also congratulated Modi over phone. Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory telegram to Modi.

Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih also congratulated Modi. “It is a strong affirmation of the Indian people’s confidence in the BJP/led government,” he tweeted. “I look forward to closer and enhanced ties of Maldives-India cooperation.”

Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani said his government was looking forward to expanding cooperation between the two democracies.

Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena congratulated Modi on people endorsing his leadership once again. “Sri Lanka looks forward to continuing the warm and constructive relationship with India in the future,” he tweeted.

Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli congratulated Modi for “landslide election victory” in the Lok Sabha polls. “I wish all success ahead,” he said. “I look forward to working closely with you.”

BJP candidates have comfortable leads in all the seven seats in Delhi

The Bhartiya Janta Party is leading in all the seven parliamentary constituencies of Delhi, pushing Congress heavyweights like Smt Sheila Dikshit and Shri Ajay Maken towards defeat.
As per the Election Commission website, all BJP candidates have comfortable leads in all the seven seats ensuring victory for the party.
In North East Delhi, the sitting MP and chief of Delhi BJP unit, Manoj Tiwari, is leading by over 2.5 lakh votes against the three-time former chief minister Sheila Dikshit.
Cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir of BJP is leading by over 1.5 lakh votes in East Delhi, leaving behind Arvinder Singh Lovely of Congress and Atishi .

BJP Leads on 18 Seats in West Bengal

Five years ago, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won just two seats in West Bengal in the Lok Sabha Elections 2014. However, the multiple roadshows and rallies by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and BJP president Shri Amit Shah seem to have worked the magic in the state. BJP is leading in 18 out of 42 seats in the state while All India Trinamool Congress is leading in 22 .

BJP has been targeting 23 seats out of 42 in West Bengal in the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections. Early trends suggest that they are gradually moving towards that goal.

K. Chandrashekhar Rao Congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Telangana Chief Minister Shri K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the landslide electoral victory of the National Democratic Alliance in the Lok Sabha election under the leadership of the BJP. Shri Rao, who is the chief of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), hoped that under the leadership of Modi the country will progress further and march ahead. BJP ahead on both the seats of Tripura

The BJP is leading in both the Lok Sabha seats in Tripura as per initial trends. BJP candidate Shri Pratima Bhoumik of the West Tripura Lok Sabha seat has taken a comfortable lead of 1,22,865 votes against her nearest Congress rival Shri Subal Bhowmik, an election official said. In the East Tripura Lok Sabha seat, BJP candidate Rebati Tripura is leading by 1,08,983 votes against his nearest Congress rival Maharaj Kumari Pragya Deb Burman, the officials added.

BJP-Sena Leads on 44 Seats in Maharashtra

The BJP-Shiv Sena combine was ahead in 44 of the 48 Lok Sabha constituencies in Maharashtra, appeared to have got an unassailable lead in around half a dozen seats, as per trends are available so far. The BJP was ahead in 24 seats and the Sena in 20, while the NCP was ahead in three and the AIMIM in one seat. Senior BJP leaders and Union ministers Shri Nitin Gadkari and Shri Subhash Bhamre were leading in Nagpur and Dhule seats respectively. All Congress candidates, including former Union minister Shri Sushilkumar Shinde, state president Shri Ashok Chavan and Mumbai unit chief Shri Milind Deora, were trailing in their seats. BJP’s Shri Sujay Vikhe Patil established a lead of 87,287 votes over his NCP rival Shri Sangram Jagtap in Ahmednagar. The BJP nominee, son of Congress leader Shri Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, quit the Rahul Gandhi-led party to join the BJP ahead of the Lok Sabha polls.

BJP parliamentary board likely to meet in the evening

With the BJP set to return to power, its parliamentary board is expected to meet Thursday evening at the party headquarters where Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is likely to make a speech. Top party leaders, including BJP president Shri Amit Shah and some senior Union ministers besides Modi, are members of the parliamentary board, its highest decision making body. The board is likely to pass a resolution to thank voters for their support and also hailing Modi’s leadership. The prime minister is also expected to address party workers.
